The origin of this site goes back to the late medieval era. It was classified as a First Growth in terms of the Royal Bavarian Site Classification and is located at the foot of the Mittelhaardt mountains where it benefits from an advantageous temperate microclimate. The palate is full bodied with concentrated flavours of ripe peaches, mango and lemongrass, the fruity flavours are backed up by a streak of flinty minerality and a vibrant, lime acidity which lingers on the palate. Best served with traditional food from Southwest Germany; Torbut with backed tomatoes. Or more likely chicken and grilled fish dishes.
