Made from the little known Uva Rara grape in the foothills of Casteggio in Lombardy. After a short maceration on the skins the wine is then aged in barriques for six months followed by five months in stainless steel. The result is an elegant wine with notes of marasca charries, brambles, black pepper and cloves. Partner with roast chicken, pheasant or dried cured meats.
