Made from 40 year old vines planted on granitic soils in the St Joseph appellation. A deep, inky wine with notes of bramble fruits on the nose. The wine spent 15 months in barrique which imparted a rich toasty character that integrates seamlessly with the black fruits, dark chocolate, coffee, pepper and truffle notes on the palate. Serve with braised beef, steak, stews or hard cheeses such as Gouda.
